Product

The trucking industry faces barriers in adopting electric vehicles (EVs) and sustainable logistics solutions. To bridge this gap, Eddy, Emissionless’ freight mobility platform, connects shippers, drivers, and EV owners. Shippers can easily post freight needs and find drivers, while drivers can easily post availability, find loads, and access equipment.

Eddy also powers their hub-to-hub freight relays, enabling drivers to cover 500 miles a day and return home nightly, cutting transit times by 50% and reducing empty miles. They’re paving the way for a faster, cleaner future in freight.

Team

Max Yergan is the founder of Emissionless. Previously he was an investor and consultant, securing over $1 billion in funding for transportation and logistics companies spanning air, land, sea, and space. Driven by a lifelong fascination with transportation and climate solutions, he brings a unique perspective - applying new approaches and best practices from other modes of transportation to fix the issues plaguing the trucking industry.

Market Opportunity

Trucking is a $950 billion industry in the US, responsible for moving 72.6% of the nations freight. FedEx, UPS, and JB Hunt are struggling to adapt to technological and regulatory changes. Small fleets with less than 10 trucks, which make up 95% of the industry, are unable to adapt and are at risk of being left behind.

Traction

  • Launched operations in 2024 with their Brightdrop truck

  • Dozens of customers in the northeast, midwest, and midatlantic

  • Largely bootstrapped / self-funded so far

  • Launching a Pre-Seed raise following a successful $100k friends and family round

  • Supported by leading startup incubators and programs like Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator, Newlab, JFF Labs, Pilot:NYC, Yard Labs, and Startup:NYC

Why Now?

The trucking industry struggles with the high costs and complexity of adopting electric vehicles and sustainable logistics strategies. Shippers want eco-friendly freight, but operators and asset owners face challenges connecting within a fragmented system.

Emissionless takes a flexible, scalable approach to these challenges. Instead of massive hubs with long timelines, they focus on modular solutions that can quickly adapt to different markets.

Emissionless understands that each city has unique needs. Their "slower and steadier" approach tailors solutions to specific communities, creating a smarter, more sustainable future for freight.

Climate Impact

The freight industry is essential, but its current methods come with serious environmental and social costs. Emissionless is working to decarbonize a sector responsible for 10% of U.S. CO2 emissions while also addressing the challenges faced by the 3.5 million U.S. truck drivers and their families. Shockingly, the average truck driver has a life expectancy of just 61 years—16 years below the national average - and a truck driver is up to 10x more likely to be killed on the job than the average American.

There are major barriers to digitization and decarbonization, especially for small and medium fleets. New technologies like electric trucks and route optimization software can help, but change is hard in an industry that’s historically resisted it. Emissionless is stepping in to provide the technology and tools shippers and carriers need to operate more efficiently and sustainably, enabling a healthier, more sustainable future for freight.
